This week isn’t the best week for John and me to “celebrate”. He’s swamped with writing paper after paper to prepare for his big meeting this Thursday that will determine if he’s able to start his dissertation. We were able to spend all day Saturday together in San Diego, and he surprised me today with some cake pops from Laurie. After a quick dinner, John had to get back to work. I went out to get him coffee and some goodies for him to snack on as he stays up late to catch up.
As I’m in line at the grocery store, I notice two people ahead of me, each with their frozen dinners and one of them a big bottle of wine. They were both comparing their lameness for the evening until they saw what was coming out of my basket; a big bag of Cheetos Puff, double stuffed Oreos, Extra Cheddar Goldfish crackers, a bag of gummy bears, and a bag of Swedish Fish…
I didn’t have the heart to them it was for my loving boyfriend who is hard at work at home. They would have probably thrown things at me.

{bacon avocado}
Call me gullible, but when I walked by the vendor at the farmer’s market who was selling bacon avocado I stopped to read the sign to see if it was an avocado that tasted like bacon. “Nutty, rich flavor, blah blah blah…doest NOT taste like bacon.” le sigh
If I can’t have bacon flavored avocado, I will settle with avocado stuffed with bacon.
